Cakepops

My first encounter with a cakepop was December 2010. My friend was selling it as a Christmas giveaway. I fell in love with it and ordered a dozen to give to Igi's Kindergarten teacher as a Christmas gift. I asked her casually how she makes it and she made the biggest mistake by telling me it's a "secret". Ha! Didn't she realize everything is available on the web? So I did my research and so many sites came up but the number 1 site was of Bakerella's.

And after reading articles of different ladies who started making it, I realized it wasn't hard to make at all so I did a little more research for an easy recipe and decided to make my very own cake pops. My first was the no-bake oreo cakepops from this site.

I also purchased the cupcake mold.

Here's my first set of cake pops shaped into cupcakes. This is my birthday gift to two of my BFFs during the birthday dinner. Just don't mind the cheez it box. It was late before I realized I needed a styrofoam to hold the cake pops. I had to improvise - found and used the cheez it box and then filled it with uncooked rice. =)

My BFFs loved it.

I guess I found a new hobby.

Day 009 - division of labor

when i used to work, Dell & I would always have an argument about household chores. and most of the time he gets away with it.

until today...

i came home to see our 3-week load of laundry's been washed and folded.

Day 008 - 1st quiz

guess i did well...not bad! =)

oh...and i finally can relate why they say AVATAR is a must-see movie on IMAX 3D. but the best part was we got in for FREE! =)

Day 007 - you are my daily inspiration

i've never felt this mentally tired for the longest time. and as soon as i got home i knew i needed to get some sleep. you looked in my eyes and asked how my class went? i answered you that it went fine. then you asked again if i was tired? i said "yes and and you told me to go to sleep and you will watch me then you gave me a big hug and a big kiss. what you said just made my teary eyed. i may have been raising you well to be so very sensitive of your surroundings, caring for the people who love you dearly and very understanding for the little neglects i've done to you.

i had a good power nap knowing that you were just next to me, trying to be as quiet as possible, careful not to wake me up.

and once i started studying again, you kept me company by amusing yourself with you Thomas trains.

thank you Igi for being so understanding of mommy at your very tender age of 4. all these sacrifices are for you because i want to give you the best future i could give.

you are my daily inspiration.

Day 006 - Lab Skills

today was our first day in lab skills and the first chapter covered proper hand washing, proper wearing of gown, mask and gloves.

i aced the proper hand washing test (didn't know there were techniques on how to properly dry your hands) and almost won the challenge on the proper way to wear sterile gloves. my professor was rooting for me but the other challenger talked to me that it broke my concentration...=( i wanted to win the challenge to get the extra 5 points at the end of the semester.

oh well....but at least i made a good impression! =)
